Neighborhoods We Serve in Norfolk
Talbot Park and Cromwell Farm
Closer to Naval Station Norfolk, these neighborhoods have a strong base of military families who often rent or buy without knowing the home’s insulation history. We work with both homeowners and landlords in this area to bring properties up to a standard that actually performs.
Bayview and Wards Corner
Homes in these northern Norfolk neighborhoods range from post-war bungalows to newer construction. The older stock struggles with the same issues as the rest of the city thin or deteriorating insulation. The newer builds are better, but many were insulated to minimum code and still benefit from upgrades.
Ghent and Colonial Place
These are some of Norfolk’s most beloved neighborhoods, full of older Craftsman and Colonial Revival homes built in the early 1900s. They’re beautiful, but they weren’t built with energy efficiency in mind. We regularly work in Ghent and Colonial Place on homes that have never had insulation inspected, let alone upgraded. The results after a proper insulation job here are some of the most dramatic we see.
Larchmont and Edgewater
This quiet waterfront area has a mix of mid-century homes that often have outdated batt insulation in the attic. The proximity to the Lafayette River adds moisture to the air that slowly degrades what’s there. We find a lot of compressed, moldy, or missing insulation in this part of Norfolk.
Ocean View
Homes along Shore Drive and in the Ocean View neighborhood deal with direct coastal air. Salt air is hard on a lot of building materials, and insulation is no exception. We see attics here that need a full removal and replacement not just a top-up.
